You’ve taken Mahjong 101, you understand the basics...but you’re not quite ready to sit down at a table and play confidently on your own.

That’s exactly what Mahjong 102 is for.

This class is designed for players who have already completed a Mahjong 101 class and want a little more instruction, practice, and confidence before jumping into regular play.

Unlike Mahjong 101, Mahjong 102 will be tailored to the players in the class. We’ll meet you where you are and spend our time working on the areas where you need the most help.

Depending on the group, we may work on:

• Choosing a hand and finding backup options
• Making better decisions during the Charleston
• Knowing when to stay with a hand — and when to pivot
• Understanding exposures and when to call a tile
• Jokers and Joker exchanges
• Reading the table and recognizing what other players may be playing
• Discard strategy
• Playing through a game with guided instruction
• Building the confidence to play more independently

Think of Mahjong 102 as your next step after 101 — less about learning more rules and more about learning how to actually play the game.

Come with your questions, your uncertainties, and the things that still make you say, “Wait...what am I supposed to do here?” We’ll work through them together.

Prerequisite: Participants should have previously completed a Mahjong 101 class.
